KMCT Medical College was established in the year 2008 with an intake of 100 MBBS seats approved by the Medical Council of India. The College is affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences. The Central Government had accorded recognition for the MBBS course in the year 2013. Postgraduate courses were started in the academic year 2015-16 in Orthopaedics & Pharmacology and in the academic year 2020-21 postgraduate courses were started in other specialities (Microbiology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Anaesthesiology, Psychiatry, Radiology & Pulmonary Medicine). From the academic year 2016-17, the intake of students in MBBS course was increased from 100 to 150 by the approval of Central Government
The Medical College is attached to KMCT Medical College Hospital, which is a tertiary level multispecialty hospital with more than 720 beds. The hospital complex is well equipped & staffed with basic general units & supportive specialities. The hospital has well conducted Cardiology, Neurology & Nephrology departments. Our students have excelled in extracurricular activities and won trophies and medals in arts & sports conducted by Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. They have also won top positions in quiz competitions conducted in various disciplines of medical science at intercollegiate levels. The college has an Alumni Association which meets every year, and also provide valuable suggestions for the improvement of the Institution

Our Pre Clinical and Para Clinical departments have their own practical labs and research labs with a facility to seat more than 90 students at a time.

We have a total of six lecture halls used by different departments. Among the lecture halls, four of them can accommodate more than 180 students each and one can accommodate more than 200 students. They are spacious, air-conditioned and fitted with all modern amenities like microphones and overhead projectors.
